The question nobody could answer

Every time you upload a document, one question hangs in the air: who keeps a copy of this? Where does it go, how long does it stay, and who can see it? For a holiday photo, maybe you don’t care. For a signed contract or a medical letter, it’s the only question that matters — and almost no tool gives you an honest answer. That nagging doubt was the real problem we wanted to solve.

Starting from security, not convenience

We come at this from a cybersecurity mindset, and that changed everything. Instead of asking people to trust a server with their files, we asked a different question: what if the files never left your device at all? If nothing is uploaded, there is nothing to store, nothing to leak, and nothing for anyone — including us — to misuse. Security stopped being a feature bolted on at the end and became the very starting point.

What we built

That idea became Moriaki Web Apps: fast, free, browser-based tools that do real work — merge, sign, compress, protect and more — entirely on your own computer. No accounts, no uploads, no quiet copies kept somewhere. Two people built the thing they always wanted and could never find, and made it free for anyone who needs it.
